Remember how I was prattling on about the awesomeness of the final solo dance batle at co.de.ed.ge and how absolutely KICK-ASS the winner was? Check this out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aL2aScMFtY

Watching it live was SICK but seeing it again and realizing the intricacy of his freestyle (we were too far away to catch some of the nuances such as at 1:27), I gotta give MAD PROPS cos that was the hottest freestyle I’ve seen in the competition circuit here.

Srsly, it could not have been any more perfect. From 0:50 when he started and the walk at 0:57 (which was when I knew that this was gonna be damn good), to the nuance at 1:27 and the one that really blew my mind at 1:32 when he hit EVEY SINGLE FUCKIN’ BEAT. Respecttttttt. It was mentioned that “Gone” is his jam, but even then, the way he stepped up to the occasion and interpreted the music, familiar as it was to him, is AMAZING. Every time I watch, I find something new to marvel at. So, really, major major KUDOS to Za.ihar for his awesomeness. Such a well-deserved and hard-fought win.

Inspired. Motivated. :)

happy xmas!

I had 4 Xmas parties to attend but ended up only attending 2 of those: Chrismukkahji and one with some of the Blas.t alumni.

Chrismukkahji was fun, although somehow it felt a little different to me compared to last year. It was potluck and we ended up with a lot more food than we did last year… which is crazy cos we had a lot of food then. We had everything from fried beehoon, to chicken wings, to macaroni, to fried rice, to chicken curry, and a cake and peach cobbler (my contribution to the shindig). And bottles of alco… of which I had none, haha.

The theme was masquerade but we only had on the masks for maybe a grand total of 10 minutes. Haha. Terrible. My mask looked like some furry creature had died on my face! Niiiiice.

Game-playing was ferocious. We are just too competitive with each other. I am, however, proud to say that my team kicked ass at Tab.oo! Charades was a bit of a failure cos we were too busy trying to sabotage each other, haha.

Xmas eve was the party with some of the Bla.st alumni, hosted by Celia. Her uncle’s house is so freakin’ swanky! Really nice. We raided Roz’s Mac, ahahaha, and watched a bunch of videos. Then we played Props, and yet more charades. But this session of charades was helluva lot more entertaining than the one at Chrismukkahji. I gave myself a stomachache from laughing so hard! The other team’s knowledge of movies was sorely lacking and we whooped their asses. They gave me “Womb.Raider”, a movie I had never heard of before and was like WTF?! But somehow my team guessed it. Haha. We were unstoppable!

A fun time was had at both parties and it just reminded me that I am rich in my friends. :) Also, my peach cobbler was a hit! (Thanks, Grand.ma Sadie… hehe!)
Today, after work, I had an impromptu shopping session. I finally bought a flat iron so I never have to whine about my hair curling again, haha. I wanted to use my 20% disc voucher to Top.shop etc but couldn’t find anything on nett price that was to my liking. I did, however, find this really awesome cropped leather jacket. Twas $146 (50% off) at Ms.Self.ridge and after some contemplation, I bought it. Hee! It’s so chic and I know I’ll wear it a lot so I’m pleased. I also wanted to buy books (part of my ‘08 resolutions) but only found one of them at Bor.ders. BAH! I will try Ki.no tomorrow, or maybe look at the bookstore at the airport.

I’m hoping that someone will open a V.S. spree today or tomorrow cos I really wanna buy this cute pair of lace-up booties. I’ve been coveting that style of boots FOREVER and finally I wanna buyyyyyyy!

Leaving for Istanbul tomorrow night! And I am not packed yet. Aaaaaaah! Luckily, I took my free time at work to plan my winter wardrobe, wahahahahha! :P I’m excited, y’alls. HOLIDAY!

That sound you hear is the sound of my ovaries exploding as I watch the section at 1:40 on repeat. HOTTT DAAAMN, PCY!

(Soft spot for PCY aside, they are all really amazingly talented. This clip is gonna fascinate me for a long long time. Le sigh.)

A clip of the LAHH/LHH item I was in at the O.Sch.ool recital has emerged. And quel surprise! It looks better than I thought/expected (I had low expectations despite the amazing choreography) and watching it and watching myself doesn’t make me wanna barf. If you can spot me amidst that blurryness and mass of people on a small stage, you deserve a prize. (Although I bet the rehearsal footage helped!) The audio/video sync seems a bit off to me in the beginning… or maybe we were dancing ahead of the music (hahahah)?

So, it’s a relief that I didn’t completely suck. It’s a particular relief that I hit the combo at around 2:00 cos we learnt that 2 days before and I kept missing it in rehearsal (too fast, which was damn obvious even to me as I was doing it wrongly cos a) I was in front; and b) the song is slow). It wasn’t perfect at showtime but at least I got the timing right. Haha. It’s also amusing to see what little flippable hair I have flipping about. First dance perf with the short ‘do yo.

So yeah, I guess I can give myself a pat on the back? Heh. Like a quick one, at least. ;)

KL-tripping

Filed under: holidays — Liza @ 8:13 pm

In the middle of all the excitement over 2.xs and the P.E. workshops and my gushing over Pat.rick Chen (henceforth referred to as PCY… you know I heart them when I start referring to them by an acronym, wahahaha!), I almost forgot about the KL trip.

The trip went pretty well. It seemed to take a million hours to reach KL and we had to change buses TWICE which was irritating. And then we got ripped off cos the taxi was RM.20 form the drop-off point to our hotel and we were stuck in a jam. But all was better when we reached the hotel.

The lobby was swaaanky and made us feel a bit excited. We had to wait a while as they checked if our room was ready but we didn’t mind. Sarah was eyeing the large bowl of green apples on the table, haha. When we got our key, we went up to our room on the 30th floor. The elevator was gorgeous; it looked like something out of a music video. It had these circular mirrors on the back wall; very cool-looking.

Our room didn’t disappoint. It was a triple room for Sarah, Cal and me. Veryyyy nice and comfortable. There was a sitting area and a small kitchenette. The bathroom was a wonder! On their website, they stated that their bathrooms are big enough to dance in and they were not lying! HUGE! You can have a little group performance in there, fo’reals. We were amazed by the bathroom for a while. Hahaha.

Since Hani and MTIA were staying at another hotel (long story), after freshening up, we headed to K.LCC for a late lunch/early dinner at Chili’s. Chili’s is heaven y’alls. We had a starter, main course and then dessert and it was all damn freakin’ yummy. We were stuffed to death but it was worth it. We ended up staying there for like 3hours cos them two came late and then they ate too. Afterwards, we cam-whored at the fountain. Heh. We were supposed to go to L.una that night, which is the roof-top outdoor bar at our hotel but while watching for Cal to shower, we all pretty much fell asleep. Hahahah. How unexciting.

Day 2 was a loooong day. We started off at K.LCC again, where us three proceeded to attempt photos with the Towers. Hilariousness… though we did get some good ones. Then we window-shopped. Hani and MTIA were MIA (this is a running theme, believe me) until mid-afternoon when we bumped into them. We had a late lunch at Na.ndo’s (chickeeeen) before cabbing it to Pe.taling Street. Much much walking. I wanted to buy some (not authentic) Nik.e high-tops which I did get… only to now realize that they really are too big for me. Hahaha, all that hassling and walking for nothing. Now I dunno what to do with them. Hmmph.

Still more shopping. We walked, yes walked, from there to Bu.kit.Bintang and spent ages at the FOS store where I did the most damage. Heh. Then we had to walk to the shiny new Pavi.llion mall which is AWESOME. Better than KL.CC in my books. Their F.21 is heavenly. So big and airy and everything nicely laid out. I ended up buying a pretty black shiny dress. Hee.

We were pooped by then and it was around 10-11-ish… we ended up eating chicken rice for dinner. Then we went back to our hotels to change… cos we were going clubbing! Ahahaha. By “we”, I mean “everyone but Cal who was a party pooper”. Hani was late so we ended up at the club only after 1am. Ghetto place yo. And I didn’t recognize half the music they played. But people were dancing and there weren’t that many creepies so it was all right. Still fun.

Last day saw us waking up early and me stuffing my face with waffles, hahaha. We checked out then headed to Buk.itBintang for some last-minute shopping… not that any of us bought anything. Somehow we ended up at Pav.ilion again where we ended our trip with an awesome lunch. RM.39++ for a three-course meal at T.GI.Fridays. It was TEH SHIZNIT. Us three each had one set so we had a lot “” of food. We packed up what was left of the appetizers and couldn’t finish our mains and desserts. It was sickkkk, in a really good way. So worth it and the food was yummy. I had a half-stack of beef ribs which were so good. I felt like a real carnivore eating it.

We high-tailed it back to the hotel to pick up our bags and raced off to catch the bus…only Hani and MTIA were late and didn’t make it. I did say it was a running theme, right? Haha.

So, all in all, it was a good trip. Much improved over the previous trip we did in Jan ‘06 which was the ghetto-est trip ever. The awesome hotel helped a lot and made the trip more enjoyable. Plus all that good food! :)

Photos will be on FB soon, I promise.

Things to look forward to: two public holidays, Chrismukkahji with the posse, Celia’s XMas party and my Istanbul trip. Wooooo!

P/S: The PCY crush could easily get out of hand. Send help, please. Or a diversion. I think I might need a leash once Jen manages to upload the perf clip and I get my grubby lil hands on it. Hahahahaha. Repeat mode, fo’sureeeee.

co.de:ed.ge

Filed under: dance — Liza @ 1:52 pm

Yesterday was an AWESOME day.

In the afternoon, I went to watch the LA.DC show, to support Meichan. It was quite entertaining; I especially liked the salsa and jazz items. The funk ones didn’t impress me as much but I suppose that’s a personal preference more than anything else. Spent some time after the show catching up with her since I haven’t seen her in ages. Good job, Meichan and have a good show today too!

In the evening was the Co.de Ed.ge dance battle. Woo!!!!! I was really super excited for it, mainly cos dance.2.xs were performing a showcase. Srsly, I HEART THEM SO MUCH.

The event opened with a dance showcase choreographed by some local choreographers. It was pretty good so kudos!

The competition itself: FIERCE. Everyone stepped up their game and showed how good dancing here can be. The final solo battle was freakin’ amazing. I had my vote on the guy who eventually won (Zai.har, he’s a regular on the solo competition circuit) and he DESERVED that win so much. Amazing! That last battle set to “Gone” (Yes, *NSYNC’s… I just squeeed when they played it) was OFF THE HOOK Y’ALLS. The last two (the other being Yaya’s good friend, Yut.aki) were really good and both had great musicality but Z in “Gone” just blew my freakin’ mind away. SICK MUSICALITY! He hit every damn beat in that song and it was just amazing to watch. Major props yo, major props. He had the crowd cheering him on for the win! And he did! Awesomeness.

The group competition was equally fierce. Some good choreography and a lot of really tight groups. A bit disappointed by the eventual winner but that was the judges’ prerogative.

AT LAST. The showcase by 2.xs. Sighhhhh. As expected, they were bloody freakin’ good… but I think I just lost it when Pat.rick (my love!) and Gi.gi did “That’s.The.Way.Love.Goes”. Aaaaah, sorry Gigi but my eyes were allll on Pat.rick. Hot damnnn, that was something else. His “Apologize” finished me off. Hehe. LOOOOOOVE. I HEART 2.XS!!!!!!!

We hung around after everything was done to say hello to people, congratulate our friends who participated and, of course, cam-whored. Among ourselves and…. *drumroll* with 2.xs. Yes, AGAIN! And yes, we have a bazillion pics with them cos we are totally fangirls like that.

We cornered Lee first and he was obliging as usual. Boy is so quiet/shy that I always feel kinda awkward making conversation with him. I asked him if they were staying (in. Zo.uk) and he said, naaah. I was like, no no, there’s a place that plays hip-hop and you should stay for a bit but he siad he had to go back and sleep. Bah, bummer. Although we later found out that he had to teach a 9am class today so he really did need sleep. Heh.

We didn’t manage to catch Gi.gi. :( We did later see her in P.huture where she was drinking and were like, HI GI.GI! as though we are BFFs. Heh.

We did, however, manage to get Patrickkkkkk. I just freakin’ ADORE him. I don’t even really know why (maybe it’s the charisma? the flirtatiousness? the dancing? all three?) but he just makes me SQUEEEEE. Jen is super excited whenever he’s in our vicinity and I was like, BREATHE JEN, BREATHE. Heheheh. So we all got pics with him again. And I asked him, can you not make a funny face? Hahahahahah! OF COURSE, what does he do? Makes a funny face. Hmmph. But the one where he tries to look all cool is nice. Oh Patrickkkkk, I heart you. So, he was like flirting with everyone and everyone was just happily flirting back and it was good times. Heh heh. And he asked if I were going to their class today and I was like, ummmm. DAMNIT.

After all that excitement, we headed up to Ph.uture where, as usual, it was packed like sardines. There was quite a number of us so we made like a circle to dance in which was uber FUN. Some random girl decided to join in which was a little weird. Hmmm. After about half an hour, most of them left. And the few of us who stayed were there till about 1am before leaving.

Would you believe the best part of the night is yet to come? Heh heh.

So we were leaving Zouk (minus Jen and Jasmin who wanted to stay) when we saw A.wi and Patrickkkkk. Like OMG! and I immediately called Jen and they zoomed out of Zouk. We stopped to chat to them and I swear I can’t remember the conversation. Okay, I do remember he asked Val and I for our names (and SCORE, he remembered my name cos later on he was like, “Liza!”), he asked (not for the last time in the night) if we were going for class. And hmmm. I can’t remember what else.

So he was going to have supper with a bunch of people and invited us along, and hey who are we to turn down Pat.rick Chen? We were completely willing. Too willing. Haha. We went to the HK.cafe nearby and us girls were at a table with A.wi. We had drinks to quench our thirst (after all the screaming, I was parched) and had some munchies. More random conversation. It was in the middle of all this that Pa.trick went, “Liza!”, and I was like huh? and I guess he just wanted to remind us of his existence cos he was sitting at another table. Hahahaha.

It was towards the end of the night that Pat.rick came over to sit with us. Heeheeeee. He was so tired/sleepy and was like falling asleep at our table but still he somehow managed to look cute. Or maybe it’s just us and our total love for him, haha. We talked about dance and then we asked him a lot of random questions. Like how long he has been dancing (professionally since 2001), when he started dancing (when he was 17, he was a breaker), where he studied (UI.UC), what was his major (Com.puter engineering, heh!), how old he is (29). The most hilarious one was asking him for his Chinese name! Hahahaha, on hindsight, it was like us interviewing him. :P

One amusing thing was when Patr.ick mentioned that they’ll be hanging out (on Sunday, today) and if we wanted to hang out with them… and I swear, my brain was half-dead and half-not-functioning due to his proximity that I thought he meant MONDAY and I was like, nah got work. And he was like, huh? cos we had earlier said we didn’t have anything on on Sunday and I was like, ohhhh oops, my bad. Hahahah. Patr.ick basically asked us out, y’alls!!!! WHY DIDN’T WE TAKE HIM UP ON HIS OFFER?!?! Heh. (I didn’t hallucinate this, right? RIGHT?)

He also asked if we danced professionally which earned disbelieving looks, and which made me wanna laugh (in a “Oh I wish!”-kinda way). And he guessed my age correctly (Good, bad? I dunno). He again asked if we were coming to class and damn you, Pat.rick for tempting me even more. BAH. He did also say P.E. will be back in March/April next year and that they’ll be doing Over.drive 2008. Wooooooo!!!! Things to look forward to in 2008, baby!

When he was at our table, I couldn’t look at him for long cos I knew I would get that glassy-eyed Oh-I-heart-you look in my eyes. Ahahahaha! It was like, okaaay don’t stare at him like a besotted idiot! :P But he is srsly hot. Srsly. Because, yes.

So now I’m kicking myself for not signing up for today’s classes. There might be one tomorrow at O.School and if there is, I AM SO THERE. I need me one last dose of 2xs.

So, yeaaaaah. Pat.rick Chen is LOOOOOVE. Adore adore ADOREEEEE. There’s something about him or maybe I just have no immunity against cute dancer!boys. Le sighhhh. *draws squiggly hearts*

There are a bunch of pics on FB but I have to put one of me and my new “boyfriend” here:

me and patrickkkkk!
Aren’t we cute together? Hehehehehe! :P

dance.2.xs!!

Filed under: dance — Liza @ 12:54 am

Day 2 was KILLER.

KILLER in the sense that the choreography in all three classes were FUCKIN’ AMAZING (even more amazing than the first day, yes). And also KILLER in the sense that keeping up (or attempting to keep up) took all my physical and mental capabilities and still, I didn’t hit it.

Session started off with Patrick again. And the more I look at him, the more I find him hot. Really. It’s kinda weird since he’s Chin.ese which isn’t a rarity here but he has this thing about him, esp. when he’s in dancer!mode. His choreography was super duper awesome and super duper uber hard. Day 1’s class was a walk in the park compared to this one. He threw a lot “” of choreography at us and it was a bit overwhelming. The best part was when he first danced it for us: HOLY CRAP ON A STICK…. I just DIED. The choreography was to Janet’s “That’s.The.Way.Love.Goes” (which is damn freakin’ sexy song to begin with and one of my faves) which made me crap myself. Add to that the REVELATION of seeing him put his choreography to the music and seriously MY MIND WAS FREAKIN’ BLOWN INTO TINY ITSY BITSY PIECES. That was some of the hottest shit I’ve ever seen yo. FUCKIN’ ORGASMIC.

I could gush on and on about how fabulous it is. I have never been aware of every single beat in that song before but now I am. Freakin’ SICK musicality man. I can’t get over it. And if I wasn’t already half in love with Pa.trick Chen, I would’ve been after that. Heh. You will understand when a clip of him dancing to it emerges.

Next up was my girl Gi.gi. Again, challenging us with isolations and tricky combos. She’s damn quick, I gotta say, and her isolations are insaneee. Love her. SO BITEABLE!

Last was Lee who taught us one of his fave routines. AAAAH, so nice so nice. Again with the musicality and the feeling of the music and movements. I was very inspired by the way he moved and the way he danced this piece. Caleb has said that he thinks Lee’s the best teacher out of the three, and now I have to agree with him. He was very patient and thorough and went through the combo with us many many times. The fault lies on our side for not really getting it. And he urging us to dance from someplace else, that the mirror is nothing but a reflection and that we have to find a way to connect with the music and feel it when we’re dancing. I really liked his class even though like the first day, I didn’t quite get 100% of his choreography.

More photo-whoring at the end. Val attended this second workshop so we went around taking more photos, hahaha. Shameless Jen took another pic with Patrick. Heh heh. We talked a little with him, though I can’t really remember about what. OH! Wait, I said it’d be cool if they would make P.E. an annual thing and he said, yes it will be. So, YAAAAAY! I was real pleased to hear that. Val asked Lee if he’s jazz-trained and I called him a liar. AHAHAHAH! He was like, nah and I went, “You are SO lying!”. AHAHAHAHAHA! He insisted that he had no formal jazz training. RIIIIIGHT. I saw him do like 4 pirouettes, hence the liar comment. LOL. And Gigi is adorable!

Day 2 was much more challenging than Day 1, choreography-wise. I don’t know if it was mental fatigue, lack of focus or both, but I found myself struggling. I also think I psyched myself out by thinking, “I CAN’T DO THAT SHIT” and we all know that with that lack of confidence, you defeat yourself. Not that I didn’t enjoy myself, because I did… but there was a lot “” of spazzing. A LOT. Mentally and inwardly spazzing. And who knows I may have danced like a spaz too? Haha.

Overall, it was a truly awesome experience. To learn and see dance at that level is something I thought I’d only experience if I went to LA/NY but it came here instead! Worth every penny and no regrets whatsoever. I feel inspired and motivated to learn more, to work hard and to bring my dancing to another level. So many things I don’t know, so many ways to train my body to move in certain ways. To bring more musicality and feel. To learn how to be soft and controlled and hit when I need to.

So, hopefully 2008 will be a year of more improvement for myself as a dancer. I’m also gonna really work towards going to LA for dance because that’s something I want to experience. Fo’reals y’alls.

I need more 2.xs. Should I go for the Sunday workshop? Hmmmmm. In the meantime, there’s Saturday’s showcase/competition to look forward to! Wooooo!

I heart Patr.ick Chen, y’alls. HEAAAAART.

dance.2.xs!

Filed under: dance — Liza @ 11:36 am

Day 1 of the dance.2.xs Proj.ect Elem.ent dan.ce workshop. I survived.

!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, it was TEH BEST EVER. Srsly. I know that I had been feeling a little freaked out about it cos I’ve seen videos of them dancing and their choreography and it’s far from easy. But I had such a great great time yesterday. It was damn good.

The session opened with Patr.ick Ch.en teaching choreography to Be.cause Of You. He taught a lot of eights and it was really nice. Esp. when he danced it…. it was like a freakin’ REVELATION. Like, OHHHH THAT’S HOW IT’S SUPPOSED TO LOOK. His control is amazing and it’s so relaxed yet strong at the same time. The first time he danced, I was like NGGHHHHHHH and inwardly flailing cos he is so damn good. Le sigh.

Next up was Lee.Daniel. His routine was a little faster in tempo and for some reason, I just never quite got his last 2 eights or so which was kinda frustrating. His routine was fast but very groovy and again, when he danced, it was like a revelation from above. Control control control. It was so smooth, strong and damn groovy when he did it. (I also really loved his P.E. hoodie; but they weren’t selling it. Boooo.)

Last but definitely not least was Gi.gi To.rres. SHE IS AMAZING, Y’ALLS. Her choreography had a LHH vibe with crazy isolations and some intricate combos. Just, DAMNNNNN. I was feeling a bit lost but her choreography is really something else. And when she dances! AHHHHHHHH! Forget wanting to be like G.in, Gi.gi is probably the ultimate. If I’m ever half the dancer she is, I would be well-satisfied. And she’s such a cute little thing too (biteable, as Ahmad said… hahahaha!).

I gotta say that taking classes at O.School was a good prep for this workshop cos their LAHH and LHH classes have a similar vibe. At least some of the movements didn’t feel completely foreign to me and I have gotten more used to listening and dancing to the music instead of depending on the counts. That helped a lot in me being able to enjoy the classes instead of completely spazzing out (as Lee puts it, haha). Not that I didn’t spaz out at all cos there were moments of spazzing, but for the most part I just really enjoyed myself and had fun and just danced.

We ended the day being fanboys and fangirls and taking pics with them. Gi.gi is srsly ADORABLE; when I told her that I love Es.sence (the all-girl dance team she founded), she was like YAY!. Heh. Pa.trick speaking Chinese CRACKS ME UP. Also, I ADORE HIM! He’s so freakin’ hot when he dances yo. Lee was a bit more quiet compared to the other two. And we shelled out 40 buckaroos for a I [heart] 2.xs tee. Wooo!

We were all HIGHHHHH after the workshop and couldn’t stop gushing about them. And I think we were all inspired. From the classes and from their encouraging words. Like I’ve said before, it’s always inspiring to watch good dancing. Inspired by the way they move, by their musicality, by their style. This is something we have never seen before; NO ONE here dances like them and being able to experience their choreography and watch them dance is well worth the price I paid. Money damn well spent, really. And I’m also very inspired to get my ass to LA to take classes. I really really want to! Heh.

The fun continues at Day 2 today! :D

dance (like no one’s watching)

Filed under: dance — Liza @ 8:39 pm

It’s over.

The result wasn’t as I wished it had been but I had a good time nonetheless. R.yan & Ann’s pas de deux almost had me in tears; it was so beautiful and easily one of the highlights of the show for me. Naturally, the ultimate was the performance by O.Crew. Amazing amazing amazing. Saw them rehearse throughout the day but they really turned it on at showtime; it was ON-POINT and everyone shined. Well done! And well worth the admission price; I would’ve paid just to see them. The item I was in got loud cheers, which was totally nice and more than we deserved, really. Much love and thanks to the posse and some of Blast.ards who came to watch the show and cheered for me. I really appreciate it and hope you enjoyed the show! :)

I’m feeling demoralized but motivated and inspired at the same time. It’s a funny mix of emotions, but there it is. The recital was a good experience and I think I did learn something but it was too short a time for me to really dig in and push myself. Yaya video-ed some parts of the item and on first watch, I was a bit disappointed with myself. Actually even before seeing it I was already a little disappointed because I knew that I had done better in rehearsal than I did during the performance itself. I dunno; nerves, adrenaline, lack of total 100% confidence in myself and the choreography, and putting too much pressure on myself. My friends who came were all supportive and nice, but I know myself and I know it was far far from perfect. Maybe I’m too hard on myself and it wasn’t as bad as I think; but if you don’t push yourself, who will?

But you live and you learn and hopefully you grow from it. Even in my own disappointment in myself, the event really inspired and motivated me. Seeing O.Crew dance was a great big whack on my head. Not in a bad way, but in a way that served to jolt me out of complacency. If they can do it, I can certainly try. They’ve given me something to aspire to. Not just in how talented and skilled they are, but in how their passion for dance and performing comes through the moment they hit the stage. It’s always always inspiring to see good dancing.

I think I’ve gotten incrementally better in the LA/lyrical style since I’ve started taking classes there, so it’s a matter of being dedicated and committed to it and giving 100% in classes. I don’t think that improvement was necessarily evident in the performance but it’s something I feel from self-observation, heh. I also want to go for more classes. I wanna go for reggae (was thinking of signing up for the reggae 1 course), hiphop flavaaaa and maybe classes at S.Wu. Got a long way to go before I get to where I wanna be. And instead of feeling down and depressed, I gotta turn it into motivation to do better.

Up next is the dance.2.xs dance workshops next week. I’m really excited about it and really keen to learn and push myself further. I’m on leave on both days so it’s gonna be a complete immersion in dance. I’m honestly a bit freaked out too cos I know it won’t be easy. But positive thinking, remember? POSITIVE THINKING.

Maybe someday, I’ll be half the dancer G.in is. *bows in worship*
