how many lives ’till another you

14 August 2009 hasn’t been anywhere near as fan-fuckin-tastically awesome as 14 August 2008.

(It was, in fact, the polar opposite as the workday was insanely busy and sucky and stressful.)

A year later, and it still feels surreal! A lot of things had to go right and I guess the stars do align sometimesK! \o/

THANKSSSS UNIVERSE, I TOTALLY OWE YOU ONE! :D

And the cherry to top it off: my fave photo EVERRRRRRR.

♥♥♥♥♥

Still 100% my future husband, y’alls.

you can keep my heart (call it a souvenir)

Filed under: i am a fangirl, picspams!, reviews, concerts, holidays, D.Cook — Liza @ 12:22 am

I got a lot of grief about my desire/decision to go to Ma ni la but despite that, I went through with it because I knew it was something that would make me happy and that I would regret it for a long time if I didn’t do it. And y’know, life is short so why deny yourself of something that will give you joy?

Yes, it was expensive. Yes, I was tired from traveling so much. But it was so absolutely worth it. \o/ \o/ \o/

May 16 2009 and August 14 2008 are absolutely Days to Remember for me. :D

(Lots of babbling, a few pics & links to YT videos of Dave’s set!)

i’ll just take you just the way you are

So ermmmm, I may or may not have bought concert tickets to see my Dave (and Ar.chie)… in Manila.

I know, I know. Headdesk, facepalm, zomgwtf??! etc etc. It’s already an established fact that I’m a lunatic. :P

But it gets even more interesting. The concert is May 16. And I’m due to arrive back from my Eastern Euro.pe and Shan.ghai trip on the 15.

O___O

*CUE PANIC*

So, it seems I’m very likely gonna fly home and almost immediately fly to Mani.la to see my future husband. I’m trying to figure out the logistics, but it depends on what time my flight home arrives and whether I wanna skive off work on Monday. At this point: I’m thinking fly to M.anila Saturday morning and then fly home Monday and take an MC. LOL. Which gives me Saturday to enjoy the concert and figure out a way to meet Dave. Sunday for shopping and meeting my aunt/family and then homeward bound on Monday morning.

Oh, the things I do for love. Heheheheh. I told my mom and she was incredulous that I’m gonna do this. But as a responsible, salary-earning adult, she can’t really do anything about it. Muahahahaha!

But it’s C o o k! And the Platinum tickets we (Nat & I; she’s the one who very gently nudged me into going) bought are less than $200! My greedy heart wants the uber-expensive Tita.niu.m tickets which are almost $400, hahahaha. :x

I’m really excited. I’ve been in a light, happy mood for the past week cos the thought of seeing Dave in concert is making me feel really buoyant and giddy and full of glee. \o/

the other david

It’s quite evident that I was in the COOKIE-FTMFW!!1!!!-camp back in May. Lil Archie was like a talented non-entity in my world.

But that sneaky little thing has been growing on me like fungus. It probably really started the night he did With You cos wow that was hilariously awkward. Yet endearing. And then the finale results when he was just so cute and nice and so so gracious. If you hate on Archie, you have a heart of stone yo. I don’t know how it’s humanly possible to be that adorable. He’s like a puppy!

ANYWAY.

Fast forward half a year later, after watching post-finale Coo.kleta interviews, months of Cookl.eta adorableness (I READ COOKLETA SLASH! *FLAILS* BUT IT WAS REALLY REALLY WELL-WRITTEN. REALLY.), the concert I saw and I’m a convert. I am hooked on Ar.chie’s “Crush” like woaaah. It’s so damn catchyyyy.

And *cough* the lyrics resonate with me *cough*. It’s like, OMG I TOTALLY FEEL THAT WAY WHEN I HAVE A CRUSH ON SOMEONE!1!!1!! I dunno, the song just encapsulates that exhilarated-nervous-uncertain-high feeling of liking someone. Le sigh.

…. oh God, or am I just still 14 on the inside? (That could be true.)

I’ve been listening to it a lot in the past few weeks cos (a) it got stuck in my head; and (b) it puts me in the right frame of mind to write fic. Heheheh. I’m weird. And I love it more than I love Cook’s Li.ght On. Who would’ve thunk???

Arch.ie’s album is out today and I’m in the middle of acquiring it, lol. His AI stuff is still yawnfest to me so I hope the album strikes a balance between showing his great voice and reflecting his young age. Bonus: our dear JC Cha.sez has songwriting credits on the album!!! Fandoms collide yo.

But hey, just cos I wanna squish A.rchie doesn’t mean that Cook isn’t still my OTL. Baby’s album will be out on the 18th and I haven’t bought an actual album in a looooong time. But I’ll be buying his to show my love and support. My only disappointment (apart from the first single) is that the album is self-titled. WHYYYY?!?? It’s a letdown coming from the word.nerd who named his indie solo album Ana.log Heart. He can make it up to me by coming to Singapo.re next year, hahahaha.

i just wanna stay with you in this moment forever

I think this might be my new favourite picture ever. (Kudos to the ever-resourceful Pat who found this. And whoever snapped the pic, I send you lots of good vibes!)

This one is even more awesome then the one I got in my cam. :D Aaaaaaaaaah! Because of the camera angle and the inclusion of people snapping pics, it has a papparazi feel to it which greatly tickles me. It feeds my fantasy of him being my imaginary boyfriend, heh. Liza+David OTP 4EVAHHHH!!1!!11!!!

I LOVE YOU, DAVID.

live and in surround sound (david.cook & friends in dc)

From the moment the trip was confirmed, I started stalking Ticketma.ster for good tickets for the DC concert. Only sucky tickets came up and based on what other people have said about past tours, I decided to take a gamble and hold out for the possibility of better tickets being released closer to the concert date.

I hit jackpot, finally, to my great relief, a few days before the show. Pulled up a pair of tickets on the right side which were pretty good. But when I searched for a single seat, the result was even better. Section 2, Row N which was the section front and center. And it turned out that there were 2 single seats on that row at opposite ends. Needless to say, we snapped those tickets up.

August 14th 2008. Washing.ton, DC: The day I met Davi.d Cook.

I don’t have the time now to divulge the whole story but rest reassured, meeting him is way up there with meeting M5 and J.D, in terms of awesomeness. Wasn’t as long as the other 2 experiences, but the man knows how to pack a punch in like 3 minutes. I wasn’t expecting much really but that Da.vid Cok is such a sweetheart. He absolutely is a terrific guy from what I experienced and what I observed and wow if I do end up marrying (a man like) him, I’d be one lucky woman.

The concert was equally awesome. Our seats turned out to be 5th row from the center part of the stage that juts out so we had a freakin’ wonderful view. I actually enjoyed the whole concert and all 10 of them but naturally, soft touch in my heart for my David. He is so amazingly talented and I had to like pinch myself cos I couldn’t believe I was seeing him live after obsessively listening to his music. Hahaha.

Today has been absolutely awesomeeee. So surreal. So so surreal. Details when I come home. Ughhhh, time is running out. Only a few more days before I gotta head back to reality.

… In the meantime, I’m gonna go daydream about David.

time of my life

Went to watch The.Big.Groove (organized by my fave peeps, O.Sch!) and it was FAN-FUCKIN’-TASTIC!

I came in without any expectations and came out wow-ed. Major love for OC.rew as usual; watching them dance (particularly G.in & R.yan) is inspiring and makes me wanna work harder so I can be as awesome as them when I grow up. :P The local crews did their thang. The overseas crews were effin’ AWESOME. Kul.ture.Break from Aus. and W.C.O from Ja.pan. Talented and entertaining and damn damn good. I was at the edge of my seat and riveted to the stage. It was great.

So now I’ve gotten an extra push to dance harder.  Damn freakin’ inspired and motivated yo. Dancedancedancedanceeeeee.

In other news, I’m most likely heading to New York in August!

Yet-unconfirmed NYC trip: Planning on going with one of my dance friends, Roz.ana, who quite randomly asked if I wanted to go. LOL. Val can’t make it, booohooooohooooo. *sadface* Found a cheap-ass flight on Chi.na Eastern but the ghetto-ness of it all kinda scares me even though there’s a $1,000 saving. Hmm hmm, I’ll have to get my dad’s opinion (pretty certain he’ll be disapproving, haha); the next best choice is a Cat.hay Pacifi.c flight at about 2k and the preferred choice is, of course, S.Q at about 2.6k. Ouchie. But hey, I can’t be an S.Q brat forever, right?

I’ve been looking at dance classes and it seems like Broad.way Dance Center is definitely where’s it at. LUA.M! And other awesome-sounding people whom I’m not (yet) familiar with. Classes at the Ail.ey Extension also sound cool. And hopefully there’ll be some guest faculty streaming in. I’m crossing my fingers that my boy Iv.an will be teaching in NYC somewhere; I loveeeee him and would die to take a class from him.

Since I’ve been to NYC before, I’m looking to do some of the stuff I missed out. See more of the Met, visit The Clo.isters (medieval art ftw!), do the CNN Tour (Andersoooon Coooooper) and go to a show taping. Broad.way (I wanna see The Lion King!). Check out Gos.sip Gi.rl related places (will they be shooting in August?). Shop my little shopaholic ass off.

I’m also hoping to make a side trip to DC. I know my friend Mike is at law school there so if he’s around DC then, it’ll be good to see him again. Last time I was there, I didn’t have time to hit the museums, which I’ll def do this time!

And, okay, major ulterior motive: I want to see my future husband! The AI7 tour hits DC on 14th Aug! Cookie! Live! Singing! Looking gorgeous! Aaaah! They’re also playing in Long Island on 4th & 5th Aug so I’ll go for that if a DC trip doesn’t pan out. Because, yes. I NEEDS TO SEE/HEAR HIMMMM. I’m super duper uber excited about the possibility of seeing him live. How fuckin’ awesome will that be?!? Squeeeeee!  /fangirl

A trip to Nia.gara Falls would be awesome too but I don’t think I could stand that long of a road trip. Egads. But if I can, I might as well do it? I’ve always wanted to see it.

At any rate, we need to book the airtickets very soon and settle on which hostel to stay at. It’ll be fun and I’m getting excited about it (even though it’ll blow out my bank account). I also know I need to get some solo me-time during the trip (cos I’m an intense and high-strung traveller, hahaha) and it’ll be cool to wander around NY by myself, hehe.

Anywayz, as my little fangirling gave away, I’m still crazy in love with DCo.ok. I’ve been quiet here cos I’m trying to restrain the DC-Squee, some of which has overflowethed to my LJ. Hahahah. He is just AWESOME and I can’t stop listening to him. And his new photoshoot in Pe.ople mag killed my brain cells with the overwhelming levels of Sexy. HELLOOOOOO, DAVID COOOOOK! Damn boy. I look forward to being an incoherent hot mess when I meet him, cos y’knowthat if I do get my ass to that DC concert, I will do whatever it takes to meet him. LOL.

And speaking of him, I should pimp out the Cookie media library I’m hosting: Wor.d Ner.d Media. It is a wonderful wonderful resource, maintained by fellow sgbsb-er, Pat, who is the queen of all things media. I’m just the provider of webspace and bandwidth, hehe. I highly recommended the I.dol perf videos cos they are super HQ and GORGEOUS to watch. Nothing compares to Cookie in HQ, my friends.
